Daniel Hudson is a damn good prospect, and we're far from the only team he's handled this season.

Sit him a couple of games. Let him get his hand and his swing better.
Coming from someone who despises Brandon Phillips, at least he brings gold glove defense to the table. Although I agree that it may be that he needs additional time off to correct whatever problems he's having.

    Gomes still stinks.

Reds still up 7 games with the hated Cardinals losing to the hated Cubbies 7-2. Magic number now at 12.

I don't question that we have players who are flagging, that could use some rest. But the games never over until the final out and we were in a place to win this game at the end, but for an excellent defensive play to catch what probably was a game winning hit. We're still going to lose some games from here on out (and I know you know that, that's not in dispute). It's another unfortunate one, but again, we had a chance. A lesser fielder and we're dancing another night. Glad the Cubs did their job though, so the night was not a complete loss.

Have you considered that every team in the NL is in worse shape than the Reds?

If you consider that, then you would know that every other team not only has games liek this, but they do it on a more regular basis. Get used to it, bad teams win on baseball. Remember when the Reds also seemed to win 70+ games despite how bad they were over the last decade?

Hudson had a 1.91 ERA coming in. We ain't the only ones he's been schooling.
