This isn't little league. Cordero must go.

Dusty can't let one person bring down the whole team in October.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

Well, I'm back. :O) A bit late I see. My wife and girls just got back from the grocery and the baby was tired/hungry....had to deal with everybody else. Nice timing though.

Oh well, it was ugly, but it was a win. I'll take it. Whoever covered the pbp, thanks.

Give Chapman the chance to get comfortable as the closer before it's too late.

    Just win, Baby.

    Reds 4-2 on the homestand.

Reading the past six threads, you'd think it was 2-4.

All I know is my team is 20 games over .500 and 11 games away from the playoffs.

I hope the worse team wins every game from here on out-- as long as that team is Cincinnati.

I really think moving Chapman to closer would be a mistake. I want him to start next year. Put Masset there for now and for the playoffs.

But it was save 36 regardless of how it happened. I know that will be the story. I guess the most important thing was the Reds won. But I have to leave when he comes in because I just can't take it.

Why would it be a mistake? Worked for Wainwright...

You can bet if he becomes lights out in that role, he'll stay there for a long time. It would be a waste of talent. Remember who the manager is. As some baseball sage once said, you can find a closer, but a talent like Chapman should be groomed to start. JMO.

Just went back and read the thread after I left. Wow. I guess it was a good thing I stepped out. Not sure my ticker would've taken it.

However....*heads off to watch the Bruce catch* Sounds like a dandy.

    Bloomquist gets that.

Okay....WOW. I just watched the final play. Just....WOW.

For as much grief as Dusty's going to get for putting in Cordero...he should get exactly that much praise...for putting in Bruce as a defensive sub for Bloomquist. Fantastic play by a future every-year-gold-glover.

There's no law saying he can't be the closer for now and still move into a starting role next year.

David Price did it. So did Adam Wainwright.

MLB Network just gave Jay Bruce the Capital One Play of the Day!

Just call him 'FullPack' as in, he makes me smoke a full pack when he comes in the game (courtesy of Earl Weaver).
