A 74-post game thread. Is there something I'm missing here?

offense?
I'm sure baseball takes a back seat on a Sunday in football season for some. (BTW, why do grown adults wear football jerseys?) It also doesn't help that the team has not been all that fun to watch the last couple of weeks. They only score when they hit a HR, play sloppy defense as was the case today by 2/3 of the outfield, catcher and pitcher, and aren't running the bases well when they do get on. I'm sure playoff threads will have higher participation.
I can see JF being a hacker but Alonso? he has been good at working the count and he makes contact.
Heck so does Juan but of course since he does not work the count or walk...he is more frustrating.
Bingo. That's I wasn't here. The Bengals play one day the whole week. The Reds play 6/7 games a week
It's not valid comparison, IMO.

I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou
Incorrect.
IFFB% is balls popped up within 140 feet of home plate. I did not see this play, but it does not sound like an IFFB.
http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/po...s-first-pop-upHe's got 558 plate appearances, 382 of which have resulted in a batted ball, and somehow not one of those 382 balls have been a fly ball caught within 140 feet of the plate (the definition of Infield Fly Ball by FanGraphs, and measured by Baseball Info Solutions).
It DEFINITELY wasn't within 140 feet. Not a chance.
Regardless, it's still a really strange occurance. It doesn't really say anything about Joey as a hitter...just odd.
