At least I think it was a single. Didn't look like a double to me.

    4-0 good guys.
How about the old geezers tonight? Edmonds HR, Cabrera starts this inning with a hustle play, Rolen RBI double, Cairo RBI single..

The sad thing is that Gomes actually has a nice swing. If he could make the necessary adjustments mentally he would be fine.

Just confused as to why he doesn't watch Edmonds/Votto/Rolen the last two nights and let it sink in.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

    LOL.

Actually, he wasn't as before my time as I originally though after looking up his stats. I was born in 1987 and he played until '97, so he was around while I was growing up. But I didn't become the rabid fanboy I am now until about 2000, which is probably why I only vaguely remember him.

You poor thing. You've known nothing but pain as far as the Reds are concerned.

So very true. Those that call him a bad baseball player, in my opinion, don't pay close enough attention to him as a hitter. The problem is that he goes up there with a Men's over-40 softball approach, which leads to so many strikeouts and pop-ups. But if he really settled down and started going with the pitch, he could actually be a very good hitter. He does have a nice swing and decent bat speed. He just likes the thought of cranking those mammoth softball homers.

    I'm digging efficient Edinson.

For the most part, yes. I've got some vague memories of watching the 1995 playoffs with my dad but I was only 8 and I really wasn't all that into baseball yet anyway.

That's why this season is just Nirvana to me.

5 Canadian born hitters to have a 30-homer season?

I don't know the answer, but great question. Obviously Joey is one.
