Man, Jonny Gomes would be such an awesome hitter if he would always hit in his first at-bat every time at the plate.

It's no biggie. It just struck me as funny.

Could have been 2 runs in with only 1 out if not for the worst baserunner in the NL. Phillips should write a baseball book called "Everything I Know About Baserunning I learned from Ryan Freel."

It's the memoirs modeled after Freel's autobiography: Balls to the Wall: Baserunning with Wreckless Abandon

I can't wait to see this play because BOTH Marty & Jeff are saying he did exactly the right thing in going for it and by hustling out of the box. They simply chalked it up to a perfect bounce off the wall mixed with a perfect throw by Braun. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the opposition and go about your business.

But I'll hold off judgment until I watch it.

Theres a grey area between hustle and doggin it...this was that grey area.

He makes too many outs to get the benefit of the doubt IMO.

Kind of unfair for Alonso's first start to be against a veteran lefty like Wolf.

Phillips didn't stop to admire it or anything but he was certainly not busting out of the box.

I hate Weeks. Just can't stand him. He always seems to do well against us.

Hart hits a towering pop-up to Rolen for the first out.

Braun at the plate with 1 out.
