Just so everyone knows, Young had shoulder surgery last year and had more soreness this year when he tried to come back. This is only his second start since some time in April-May...he only went four innings in his previous start.

    I'm mixed on that game.

I want The Rockies to lose, but I'm not sure I want The Giants int he postseason. They seem more formidable in a short series than SD.

Grande is an amazing improvement over Keels.

I am not a GG fan either.

By the way, you might never have heard of him, but apparently San Diego has this player named Eckstein that is among the immortals of baseball history.

He's pretty good in small doses.

Kind of a "stroll down memory lane" type thing.

    Me too in some ways.

But, GG was the voice of The Reds as I became the baseball fan that I am so I'll always have a special place for him even though he got on my nerves in the latter years of his full time tenure.

    No doubt.

Ludwick hits a DEEP flyball that dropped dead for an out.

    2 out, Stairs up.

I feel the same way. Having a hard time with that.

    Giants ended up winning 2-1.

This could mean, though, that San Diego wins the wild card and the Reds would face them in the first round if the Reds can manage the second seed.

Stairs makes the final out to send us to the top of the 3rd.

Anyone remember back in the day, when Stairs was a Cub? I watched ESPN a lot back then, unfortunately, and every time they'd show a Cubs highlight with Stairs, the talking head (can't remember his name) would say "Professional Hitter.... MATTHEW STAIRS"

    Hate ESPN

Bruce goes down swinging, K #1 for Young.

2 down, bases empty for Rolen.

Oh, for God's sake. 400-lb. man jumps over the fence. Actually that's unfair. Stairs weighed about 400 lbs in Philly, looks like he hit the plyometrics this offseason.
