Of course not. But the run ACTUALLY scored on the HBP, when it should have been a dead ball.

Maybe, if it was called properly, Schumaker HRs. Like I said above, I agree that you can never say how things would have played out for sure. BUT, like I said originally, the run probably wouldn't have scored.

All those tickets were sold at the beginning of the year. You're in contention for 10 years running, you get 40K a game, every game and don't have to rely on walk-ups...

It's still impressive. There are attendance problems running rampant through baseball, even with winning teams. It's the last Monday game of the season when the Cards are all but out. Reds can't draw that winning.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

That's true. I doubt there will be 15,000 at the Reds game on Tuesday night.

    I agree to some extent.

BUT... give them a stretch like we had from '01-'09 and I'd like to see how well they do. They'd still probably beat our numbers during that stretch, but I don't think they'd be nearly as impressive as they are now.

    Great teams create great fans.

Isn't that paid, not necessarily actually at the game? There were a lot of empty seats during the Pads series at Busch, when there was still a small glimmer of hope, so I can't imagine they were 90% full last night in people actually at the game.

Pirates take game 2 in the series, 7-2.
