This lineup is going to score 6+ runs. I can feel it.
School's out. What did you expect?
I absolutely love this.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
Should be a fun one.
Like this move by Dusty!
You know, it would have been interesting if we could have posted this lineup in late April. I think many would have thought "great, another season w/ mulitple injuries and no division race." At least you'd be right about the "no division race" part
I'm happy for the the regulars, who get a much-deserved night off, AND for the bench guys who get to contribute tonight...but wow. This wouldn't even qualify as a spring training lineup!

Is Rick Sweet managing the game tonight?
Good for the regulars to get a well deserved day off!

Shouldn't the thread title be changed to "Astros at Bats?"
I'm perfectly OK with this. I'm surprised by it, as Dusty indicated yesterday he wanted to go all in for the 2-seed, but I have no problem with this whatsoever. I may even sit the starters again tomorrow, and then head into the weekend working everyone back in so they don't get too rusty.

I bet we see a heavy dose of Maloney, LeCure, and Fisher out of the pen the next couple of days as well. No sense in burning thru Arthur and Masset when they'll be likely called on every game next week.

I feel bad for these guys. They are just as hungover as the rest of them and they're the ones who have to play. Should be an interesting one to watch!
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"
-Walt Whitman
I was waiting to see what this lineup would look like. To be honest it does look like a Sept. lineup of the past.
How is Chris Carpenter going to explain this lineup to his son?
