Pads lost 3 of 4 to the Cubs. They are almost out of it now.

They basically need to sweep the Giants and then win a 1 game playoff, right?

Or can they still beat out the Braves for the wild card?

Nevermind...looks like SD is 2 back of Atlanta for the WC and 3 back of SF for the division.

Just back from the game. Very fun, three homers, a line-out to Joey for a one step double play. Good baserunning. Coco waltzing through and inning. Fun crowd, albeit small. We got our tickets for Saturday too and my wife and I may come back on Sunday to celebrate our 29th anniversary. And we're playing the Brewers having clinched already so 1999 isn't rearing it's ugly head.

That was the year they should have lost to Oakland but the A's manager starts Gil Heredia in the game 5...at Oakland....and he gets pounded for 6 runs in the 1st. A's should have beaten them in 2001 even more than 2000.

I understand it's just dithering over technical titles... but I'm fully ready to call BA our "ace".
