I mentioned a day or so ago the Reds could have a game where the pitcher never bats this series (crazy I know)...so I like the thinking of this.

    Quote:
If I’m Dusty Baker, my innings plan for tomorrow goes something like this:

    1st – 4th: Volquez
    5th – 6th: Wood/Bailey
    7th – 8th: Chapman/Massett/Rhodes
    9th: Cordero

If handled correctly, the Reds can probably get by only having to let their pitcher hit once, and can ensure that they have a platoon advantage in nearly every high leverage situation they might face. Rather than looking for Volquez to match Halladay by pitching deep into the game, the Reds need to take advantage of their bullpen depth and the copious amount of off-days. Remember, relievers outperform starting pitchers almost across the board because they don’t have to pace themselves, so getting more innings from your relievers is a good idea if you can do it without wearing them out..
    Love this strategy.

Reminds me of the "Relief Pitchers Only" idea from the early 2000s.

Oh it's on like Donkey Kong tonight! I am SOOOO excited right now and I won't even get to see parts of the game until later tonight, LOL BTW-A friend of mine who's a big Philly fan is totally ignoring me on Twitter today. I have a feeling she stopped following me for this series because she's that much of a tool about her team. Who cares if we're both cheering for our teams and talking trash the rest of the time?! I think it's hilarious, LOL

An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

I didn't realize that the Reds won the "team Triple Crown" by leading the NL in average, HRs and RBI. They just posted that on TBS.

I think we led the NL in every major statistical category except OBP and SB.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
