According to Marty it all about location.

He's throwing hard, but the first one to Weeks looked like it was on a tee. Same good movement, but he can't control it.

Velocity has not been an issue.

True, but Marty had it in his head before the game even started that Edinson would be wild. Other than the Braun walk, he was right on the zone for the most part.

Opening day, first time opening day starter, first inning against main rival...I'd say nerves can be a big contributor here. I'm not going to read too much into it.

Alright! Time to get a few back... I think most of the Reds-Brewers game will be this way. A scoring fest. Last one to score wins!

I agree. Too early to read anything into it. I hope anyway.

There isn't really anything to read into anything. He threw at least two incredibly hittable pitches in that inning. He's trying like heck to throw strikes, but he has no command.

Wild in the zone is bad. Stuff or not.

Votto nearly hits one out. A long SF scores a run.

Almost! 3-1 Brewers. Votto almost launches one.

I can excuse the sacrifice in this case even though most of the time it's a waste of an out.

Rolen is 7/11 lifetime, in honor of George Grande, it would be a great time for a bloop & a blast w/ Bruce on deck.

Rolen is tied with Dunner for the most opening day dingers of active players with 6. Time to break the tie. :O)

BB to Scotty. The Bruce approaches. Defenders tremble.
