There has to be something wrong. The guy has no command. 40 pitches and 3 walks in the inning. Wowsers.

Yes. He's a guy who didn't have great command to begin with less than 100 innings removed from Tommy John.

We'll look back on trading Josh Hamilton for Edinson Volquez as the second-worst trade in Reds' history, only behind Frank Robinson. AMAZING.

ERA back to 12.15 NOW Dusty starts to warm somebody, when you should have done it about 3 batters ago.

any trade of Hamilton was a horrible trade, but for Volquez was just dumb bad luck

I agree, 44, but why then are we starting him? Four runs and lots of damage to be done yet. Send him down, give him work, and don't let him give away games. He obviously is not ready.

As for the trade, well, I agree it's not what we hoped.

He dominated the minors in his rehab last year. It doesn't do him any good going down there. It's April and we're 4-0. If we can't let him work through it now, we'll never be able to.

I'm not defending Volquez becuase 3 walks will do you in, but when the other team puts only 4 balls into play, and they are all singles (including 2 flares and one bleeder), Volquez wasn't getting much luck.

He didn't pitch nearly as bad as the actual results.

He also struck out the side. That's the predicament you put yourself in when you walk three guys though.
