Rain ended the Mudcats game early. Dallas Buck was good for five innings but fell apart in the sixth. I had a bad feeling about the game as soon as I saw that Eric Eymann was being used as the SS. With Miguel Rojas injured, I figured we'd see more of Jose Castro.

It was a long game, but Bakersfield managed to hang on. The middle of the lineup struggled, but the top and bottom of the lineup were great. The 1-3 and 6-9 hitters combined to go 17-for-28 with 11 runs and 9 RBIs. The middle of the lineup went 1-for-14 with 9 strikeouts.

The Dragons were down 4-2 in the sixth but managed to come from behind for the victory. Billy Hamilton had two hits plus a stolen base, Juan Duran tripled, and the bullpen (Pat Doyle and Blaine Howell) combined for four innings of shutout ball to get the win and the save.

    Re: 04/09/11 Minor League Games

    Danny is eating RHP alive.

His lone hit off LHP was fighting off a pitch on the handle of the bat that fell in down the LF line. That was off Fu-Te Ni.

Danny is hitting .545 overall and slugging .909. He is hitting .833 against RHP. He is leading or tied for the lead in AVG, OBP, RBI, HR and SLG for the Bats.
