Reds have won exactly 14 games in each of the first three months of the season (counting the March 31 game as April). Odd.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"
-Walt Whitman
I DVR'd the game and watched last night. Chris Welch mentioned that Volquez had a long talk with Jim Palmer in Baltimore. They talked in Dusty's office alone for quite a while. Palmer told Welch that he told Volquez just to keep things simple and just throw strikes. That's what it's all about. At least for one game Volquez took Palmer's advice. Hopefully that advice will stay with him for a long time.
