    Kanye's new video...

Arise and walk, come through. A world beyond that door is calling out for you. Arise and walk, come through. It's calling out for you.

I've been listening to YHF a lot lately. Fits the mood I've been in. I completely lost myself in "Ashes of American Flags" earlier today.

For my next trick, I will turn all of the grown men on RedsZone into a blubbering mess:

I've been swimming in Being There and Summerteeth myself

Seriously to ME Wilco is the best American band of the last 20 years, they are the Neil Young of that era

Phosphorescent. Really got into Muchacho earlier this year, and recently have fallen in love with Here's to Taking It Easy. The Willie Nelson covers album To Willie is great listen as well.

The song "Mermaid Avenue" might be my favorite song of the year. Some real beautiful sad-sack ****. Have a listen: Mermaid Avenue

Sky Blue Sky scared me. I thought Wilco was stampeding towards Dad rock. It, and the eponymous album to a lesser extent, sounded like Tweedy had been main-lining The Eagles. The Whole Love restored my faith. To my mind, it might be their best album since Yankee Foxtrot Hotel (toss-up with A Ghost Is Born).

Re: What am I listening to? (Part II)

Saw a band called Lucius in the basement of a college dorm last week and was blown away. Fronted by two girls, backed by three guys, and this is a band that clearly cares A LOT about how it sounds (and looks). Just a huge, very precise sound, often three drummers at a time, lots of percussion, beautiful harmony. The album is great but I highly recommend seeing them live if you can -- tons of energy.

There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

Went and saw Perfect P*ssy on Tuesday night. Of all the buzz-y, blog-fueled, Pitchfork-blessed bands...

I knew I wasn't walking into a Peter, Paul, and Mary show, but it was five two-minutes blasts of dissonance and they were packing up and on their way to Chicago.

    Strange experience.
