Fleet Foxes put out an "unscheduled" release on Tuesday called "Shore." Really good record.
“The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Caw.

I've listened to it twice now and liked it even more the second time.

Yeah, it's a good one. I've heard it 3 times now.

    * I was not sure where to post this *

Last weekend, I got this at at department store called Bargain Hunt (a buyout store). The Tom Petty Greatest Hits double LP for $15. I mainly get my LP’s at thrift stores or garage sales for a buck or two but thought this was a good deal considering it was brand new.

    * Attended the 1990 and 2010 Reds Division clinchers *

Nice find. That’s a pretty popular “new” (so far as the vinyl resurgence goes) album that is usually priced in the 25 dollar range. I gotta think the price of vinyl will come down to more normal levels as it really seems to be in a bubble (due to COVID and even pre-COVID pressing limitations). 40 dollars for the new Adele album? C’mon. Though the price of that has dropped by almost 25 percent it seems and is still going down. But again, a nice find for you out in the wild.

Prices will go down…but to the still-high prices they were at 2 years ago. For better or worse, the second hand market for records is out-of-control healthy and, as you noted, the MSRP of major labels will always be blood-suckingly high. They’ve been pushing reissues of classic rock records that are easily available for $5 for $30+ for almost a decade. Big artists like Adele and Lord will get $40+ price tags.

If you want to collect and do it on a budget (and you like garage/pop-rock/indie rock/punk/90s alt-rock-worship), dive back into tapes. Major labels have hopped on that new-ish trend but $12 seems to be a hard ceiling for even them. You can get brand new tapes for $5-8 from indie shops and bands.

Adele now down to $25 (from $40) at Amazon. An interesting case study.

As someone who hasn't really enjoyed their last few albums, the new Wilco is really good!

Vinyl has gone up due to supply chain issues. They are going to see $40 prices, you did well.
