Well, the basis of your comment was wrong. I can understand your frustration with the season but the gloom supported by actual fact is bad enough without making up reasons to be gloomy.

If they tend to score more than they allow, there's something more to the losses than poor situational hitting.

Most games, they tend to allow more than they score.

Poor throw by Stubbs allows Buck to score on the sac fly. 6-4 Fish.
Chapman in. Why? To get one out in a game down two?

Mainly because the starting pitching is amongst the worst in the league rather than a product of "clutch" hitting.

I was just guessing. But my point is, like some of the teams way back when who hit well, but couldn't pitch, all that matters is wins and losses. Sorry to be so gloom and doom, but it's really frustrating to see the same things happen over and over again. Case in point: Nick Masset. Why Dusty left him in to face the lefty when Chapman was ready is really confusing to me.

I have never seen a major league outfield throw home ineffectively and allow base runners to advance as much as the Reds.

I have never seen a major league team bring in relievers after the damage is done more than the Reds.

Is there no one left to pinch hit for janish in the bottom of the ninth?

Well, the hitting had better improve because pitching in GABP is no picnic. The pitching needs to get better, but if you are expecting a 3.50 ERA staff at GABP -- good luck.

And somebody ought to tell the Reds that they usually face RHP. So having three or four lefty hitters and a bunch of righty hackers won't work.

Lewis, Hanigan and Frazier all available, I believe.
