Nice finish for Cueto.....11 K's and leaving with the lead.

Sappelt hits a tapper to 3rd. 1 down. IBB to Votto to load 'em up for Bruce. 1 down.

    left 'em loaded
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Crud. Bruce beats the living crap out of the ball....right at 2nd. Votto doubled up.

I couldn't tell, but Thom said Bruce hit a soft line drive into the DP.

Bruce with the bases loaded, could be better. Twice today he ended threats with bags full.

Some bad luck that inning. Cairo walks home on Brandon's ball if it doesn't bounce so high into the stands and BP probably ends up at 3rd. Key AB was Sappelt's, IMHO, got to produce the run so they don't do exactly what you know they're going to do: IBB to Votto.

Well, I was going by Marty and they said he scorched it.

I'm watching on TV. I'd say it was solidly hit but not scorched.

Let's go Chapman. Forget the runner. Go after the hitter.

Why is Thom babbling about Chapman learning to hold runners in the offseason? Could there be a less relevant topic in the eighth inning of a one run game?

No decision for Cueto after the Zimmerman single to tie it up. Wild pitch to allow the runner to go to 2nd did him in.

I beleive it was a broken bat line drive. It looked better off his bat than it ended up being.

Still, any line drive has a better chance of finding the OF than being caught. It was just hit right at the 2nd baseman.

Reds should have a big lead today but keep failing with men on base. The last inning at bats by Sappelt and Bruce were killers.
