Should Phillips have put the brakes on after stumbling right after third there?

I wonder if Phillips is doing that late practice swing thing to force himself to take the first pitch...
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Leake pitching great tonight.

Mes called for catchers interference, but no damage.

Gotta feel sorry for the kid.

With 2 outs the Cubs extend the inning with a swinging bunt hit. Only the 2nd hit off Leake.

    A HR ties it.

Reds will win it for Leake in the tenth.

    Great outing despite the homer.

Oh man... I feel so bad for him. What a great game he pitched (and so few pitches at that).

    I think he was nervous.

Obviously, he shouldn't have been "closing."

Too bad he did not throw him a 2-0 change up. Terrible luck there with the Castro hit.
