I'd rather listen to Kelch read the phone book than suffer through Thom Brennaman's attempt to make every instance on the field the most important event since the discovery of manned space flight. -westofyou

Maybe tweaked a quad coming into 3B while running the bases, though Thom speculates that BP maybe also coming out of the game because his BA is exactly at .300.

Also- will be very interesting to see if Arroyo gets to go the full 9 just to get to 200 IP. I can't remember, in my days of watching the Reds, such effort to get guys their "numbers."

edit- Chapman up and throwing in the pen; may come in for the 8th. So much for my conspiracy theory!

I'm truly stunned, stunned! that Arroyo is NOT pitching the 9th to get his 200IP.

They showed a replay and he was grimacing about half way down to 1B on his last AB.

Well look who's pitching for the Mets. Our old friend Daniel Ray Herrera.

    Coco with the routine save.

Walks the first guy who is then thrown out on a hit and run. Then, he walks 3 straight to load the bases with one out. Thom is apoplectic. Then a liner to Frazier who steps on second to complete the DP to win the game.

Coco had it under control the whole time.

Wonder what the chances all three will end up in the top 10 someday? It's possible but not likely.Phillips is the biggest question mark imo but four more years should do it.

Here's the Boxscore and a bit of a rant.

    http://cincinnati.reds.mlb.com/mlb/g...e=box&c_id=cin

The defense bails Cordero out again. He gets "The Save" and the big bucks.

I believe it would be a mistake and a huge waste of money to pay Coco anywhere near 12 million dollars for 2012.

I'll give credit where credit is due Cordero has been better this year: but tonight was a flashback of most of Coco's career as a Red.

Marty Brennamen and his "Yes Men" that make up the local media covering Reds Baseball are all too eager to tell us that "The Home Run" is the most overrated stat in the game.

I respectfully disagree. In my honest and humble opinion "The Save" is far and away the most overrated and most overpaid for stat in Baseball.

    end rant.

Did anyone ever think that it is useful as a motivational tool? Why are incentives written into contracts? Why do we have grades in school? Not a big deal, oh and I guess they weren't going to let him pitch the 9th just to get his innings.
