It is amazing the amount of great restaurants I have seen in my lifetime go out of business via not paying taxes.

Part of the death spiral. Taxes get skipped, suppliers don’t get paid, paychecks get late (or don’t happen). A collapse eventually happens.

All too bad. Rivertown was big new cool thing in its heyday. One of the first local beers. But all things must pass.

Actually they were in Lockland... a tricky place to find. They gambled by going big and I guess it didn't pay off for them. This brewery is now in that space:

I think that brewery is also struggling.

These guys gotta be careful when they expand like that

They were doing contract brewing/canning for other craft breweries (similar to what Taft’s does at their Spring Grove location). This was always the intent of the oversized Monroe location. But the owner started messing around the employees and they started bailing as other new breweries were coming online. As Rivertown couldn’t fulfill their contract obligations, they lost those contracts. Allegedly a craft brewery from outside the area, with a larger national footprint, is going to take that location and use it as a production/distribution hub.

My wife, daughter, son in law and I went to Great Crescent brewery in aurora Indiana after making a few super bowl wagers at the casino. It was a cool place. Their Vienna lager was excellent.

Robert Woods Catches Beer During Rams Victory Parade

LA Rams wide receiver Robert Woods showed off his skills during the Super Bowl victory parade – catching a beer after it was thrown to him from the crowd.

This video shows an excited fan throw a can of beer at Woods as the team buses pass by eager supporters lined up outside of the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Upon catching the can, Woods chugs it, before slamming it to the ground – much to the excitement of the fan who threw it.

Woods retweeted the video and said: “Let’s goooo!!! World Champs baby.” Credit: Denis Onwualu via Storyful

I defrosted this fridge on Monday over night. It has that little side freezer on the inside that needed to be defrosted. On Tuesday, I plugged it back in and of course it turned back on. Placed beer in it. The beer was ice cold last night while watching the Reds game.

Not an energy saver but love that it keeps everything cold and the history of it. I am still amazed how this was built to last.

Not a beer post, but I'm a bourbon drinker. So I purchased an aging barrel. I filled it last night with some Single Barrel Jack Daniels. I'm going to let it sit for about a year and see how it taste. The barrel claims to age about 10X faster than the barrels at the distillery.

What's the best bourbon you've had?

I am a huge fan of Blanton's Original Single Barrel. I've only had 1 bottle of it because its pretty expensive and can be hard to find locally. I also like Elijah Craig. My go to drink tho is Gentleman Jack or Jack Single Barrel. I like the charcoal flavors of Jack. A couple weeks ago I picked up a Sinatra Label Jack, it cost me, which is the reason why I haven't broke it open yet. It's probably something I will sip on tho. I don't drink like I used to, hangovers suck as you get older, but I like to sit in my mancave and have a drink and smoke on a cigar from time to time...you know, old man stuff!

Man I used to be able to find Blanton's in any store around here for like 50 bucks. Now it's impossible. Bourbon hoarders have ruined it for average consumers. It sucks.

Here is a fun beer I had over the weekend. I would describe it as a great beer to have after mowing the lawn on a hot day. I purchased it for mostly the name. Brewed in Covington, KY. I will display it on a shelf in my garage.
