I know it's less than 24 hours since I made my predicition, but I thought about it, and I realized I made that 87 wins pick with HUGE Red colored glasses on. That's my pick if EVERYTHING falls into place--- but it almost never does.

And I simply can't shake my pessimism about Bob Boone.

Maybe it's just season-eve jitters, but if you REALLY want to know how many games I think we'll win:

    79

I think we'll "hang around" in the playoff race for most of the year, but never really be a threat. Boone will be axed after the season, if not sooner. But I do think Junior, Kearns, and Boone are all going to have big years.

Speak now, or forever hold your peace, gang. This one's going to the archives soon, so it's time to ante up.

I'm sticking with my 162-0 prediction of a few months ago.

I'm going to go with 85-77.

    15fan, that's a pretty gutsy prediction!

I'll take those 87 wins that Edskin has returned.

    My exact record prediction 83-79.

If I had a 5 win swing, it would be somewhere between 79-84 wins, basically I think this a .500 team.

I do think 2004 will be better.

i'm going with 78-84. unfortunately, the pitching isn't good enough to carry us any further. not quite the team we were promised at the opening of gab. to quote a cubs fan..."wait 'til next year".
