Can't expect Leake to shut out the Cards. Hopefully he'll get out of this inning without much damage.

Reds need to score some more in this game.

Hard hit grounder right at someone would be nice here.

Cards have 816 singles this season, not counting this game.

    Reds with 680.

Reds with more extra base hits, though.

Sac fly ties the game. Perfect throw probably gets him. Ball was up the third base line and deflected off the runner.

Holliday takes a 1-2 pitch on the corner that was oh-so-close. 3-2 count now.

Holliday smashes a one-hopper right at Cozart, who throws him out to end the inning.

That was close. Good work by Leake there. 8-9-1 coming up for the Redlegs

I saw the other day that the Cards' BABIP this year is .318. The Reds' is .296. That's quite a few hits over the course of a year.

Definitely a good job to minimize the damage there. That could have been a disastrous inning (see last night, sixth).

The Cardinals are like Michael Myers. You just keep shooting them and they just keep staggering after you with a machete.
