Ludwick lines to 3B on a good play by Carpenter (not Chris or his son).

Bruce with a beautiful snag.... You can't put numbers on defense!

This is why I love Leake. Granted, some nights just aren't his. But he's fearless and attacks, attacks, attacks. Gets out of the 4th with a grounder to short.

Takes you all the way back to his very 1st start... Walking all those Cubs, yet still attacked and still pitched well.

Yep. He isn't ever going to strike out 10 guys per nine, so he'll have nights where, if his command isn't the greatest, he'll be hit. But when he's on, he is a guy that can shut teams down and save a bullpen from usage as he is capable of working deep into a game.

The guy still has less than 500 professional innings and is still young. I think he still has a higher ceiling than most give him credit for, as they forget he's been developing at the highest level where most guys are still pitching to single-A or double-A batters.

The Cardinals hit so many balls that just get through the infield, or bloop over someone's head. I don't mean to start another debate on strikeouts, but IMO only, the Cards show why putting the ball in play is a big deal.
