    Re: 9/28/2012 Reds at Pirates

Homer and BP both ground out and nearly beat out the throws. Cozart singles again.

cam, not sure what you mean. Rolen led off the second, he didn't bat with anyone on.

Votto grounds into the shift to end the frame.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I bet Scott Rolen burns himself with hot wax at night as punishment for making an error.

Homer worked around a Rolen error to start the inning and gets the next three batters. He has 3 K's so far.

    1-0 Redlegs after 3.

    Frazier flied out
    Bruce struck out
Rolen singled then throw out at second

1-2-3 fifth for Burnett against the Reds. He's at 70 pitches.

I'm starting to come around to the idea of starting Homer on the road with Latos and leave Cueto for the home games - at least in the first round.

    Tabata grounds out to pitcher
    Alvarez K's (#6 for Homer)
    Barmes K's (#7 for Homer)

And with those 5 scoreless innings, Homer Bailey has officially reached 200 IP in a season! Congrats Homer!

Cueto, Latos, and Bailey are the first three Reds pitchers to throw 200 innings in the same season since Belcher, Swindell, and Rijo did it in 1992.

Bailey needs to start game 2 where ever they play...He's just plan filthy on the road.

I hope Dusty will see the light and change the rotation around. Pitch Cueto game 1 and Latos game 3.

Geez. I'd kill for a sign of life from our offense. It just continues to be a cause for concern going into the postseason.

Sub-2.50 ERA on the road this year as of right now. Not sure what more he needs to do for that to be an option. I agree with everyone that says they'd still take Latos or Cueto over Bailey on the road. But that's not even the issue. It's that you'd much rather have Cueto than Bailey pitching in Cincinnati. So let Homer pitch on the road and the Reds improve their odds.

That room where the "pink elephant" is residing is getting smaller and smaller. Huge concern.
