Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.
Honestly the 2010 NLDS against the Phillies is kind of a blur for me (outside of Game 1) even though I can remember almost everything else about my life from just two years ago.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
An outstanding quote from one of deadspins commenters in the open thread.
Mat Latos would not look out-of-place in a Cobra Kai gi.
Great job of managing a rough situation. Can not be overstated how excellent a job Dusty did tonight.

The rotations according to ESPN:
Oct 7, 2012 CIN (Arroyo) @ SF (Bumgarner) 9:37 PM ET
Oct 9, 2012 SF (Lincecum) @ CIN (Cueto) 5:37 PM ET
Oct 10, 2012 SF @ CIN (Bailey) TBA
Oct 11, 2012 SF @ CIN (Latos) TBA
If they win tomorrow, would you move Bailey up to game three and possibly have a chance to have Jonny and Mat ready for start the NLCS?
Wear gaudy colors, or avoid display. Lay a million eggs or give birth to one. The fittest shall survive, yet the unfit may live. Be like your ancestors or be different. We must repeat!
If the Reds don't win another postseason game, tonight was about heroic efforts.
Sam LeCure was a hero tonight. He could not have entered into a more chaotic situation, kept order long enough for Latos to warm up.
Mat Latos was even more heroic. He was loosening as soon as it was clear Cueto was done. He was fired up and ready to go.
Votto made a heroic reflex play on the DP line drive.
Ludwick made two heroic catches.
Broxton made a heroic 3-2 pitch, outside corner at the knees.
BP got a hanger and didn't miss it, but I think his 9th inning single was even more heroic. And that diving stop backing up a play? In honor of Thom, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
And for a parting shot--Braves/Cards, that's how you play the game.![]()
"Rounding 3rd and heading for home, good night everybody"
Stat from twitter:
"@msimonespn: Reds P Aroldis Chapman had 50 K on 100+ MPH pitches in regular season. Everyone else in baseball combined for 52 K on 100+ MPH"
I cherish the top of the 9th more than any point of the game because the Reds manufactured a couple runs when they absolutely needed it most. They are going to have to repeat that many more times to get through the remainder of the postseason.
