OPS down 72 points since June 22.

And Walt continues to do nothing (except fire pitching coaches).
Rounding third and heading for home...

If they mishandle having the best trade chip on July 1st and hold on to him too long it will be an epic fail. Like, The Illiad sized epic.

    Hyperbole much? Lol

Reds don't have to trade Bruce this year. It would be nice but doesn't have to be done. And that would be OK.
Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.

I agree in theory. But the reason to hang on was to rebuild value. That's done, so strike while the iron is hot. If he falls off a cliff its another opportunity lost to add talent. Looks to me like the slump has already begun.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

It does look like he is going into a slide hopefully it is not like last year especially before the trade deadline

He does it every year (some are just worse than others). My guess is he drops another 50(+) points by the end of July and the trade him for pittance.

Yeah, I think comparing it to the Illiod was pretty clearly hyperbole...

It is very probable Bruce's value was at its peak on July 1. If we get to the deadline and Bruce suffers a month long slump (Who would honestly be surprised?) his value will be much lower, and it will be low this offseason. I am truly amazed people don't see this.

I see it. But much of your point seems to be predicated on the idea that there is a viable market for Bruce RIGHT NOW, which we don't know to be the case.

I also don't think teams are putting any stock in the week to week fluctuations in Bruce's performance. Yes, if it's July 31st and he's had a poor month, that will effect a return. But the stuff about June 22nd until now is pointless.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Bruce is a highly known quantity. And his value ain't that high. Simmer.

That is precisely why I am saying he needs to be traded immediately. If we get to July 31st and Bruce suffers a month long slump his value will be in the toilet and the Reds will have missed a golden opportunity....again (see Frazier and Chapman at last deadline).

Also, we absolutely know there is a viable market. Multiple teams have expressed interest with an offer already being made.

Boy, if you get frustrated with Bruce's up and down streaks, you'd just love Puig.
