I think Puig would go nuts in GABP, but either way, I'm sure he will be better than a return Bruce will fetch at the end of the month when his OPS drops 60-70 points.

I'm going to go start a twitter account and claim that the Angels offered Mike Trout for Bruce and the Reds said no.
It will be on twitter so it will be true.

You guys do know that aren't really buying and selling in a stock market. Teams will know everything that you know, plus some.

Still, it's all hearsay and rumor, I also maintain it would be a terrible return for Bruce.

Yea. I realize all the buyers want to examine their options (and some may want to procrastinate a trade to evaluate their in house options a few more weeks).
At the same time, if the Reds get a decent offer for Bruce now, they should pounce on it. Don't hold out for 10-20% more.
Note, I have no idea if there are any decent offers on the table.
I am pretty sure a lot of RZers are overvaluing him though.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Yes, Bruce is a highly known quantity. That's the problem.
If I were a team interested in Bruce - I say, wait until late July, there's a good chance he'll slump. Reds are sellers, wait them out, price could go way down.
If I'm the Reds, I try to finalize a deal at the All Star Break. That's when the market usually starts. Wouldn't wait for another hot streak, too iffy.

I think the Reds are standing pat to get a good offer given the current field.... however - ASG rosters will be announced tonight, so if Bruce is going to SD - he will be a Red for at least another week (Reds won't pull another Jeff Shaw). If not - I think he gets traded stat.
I think right now the Adam Duvall goes to the ASG and that's all.
He just hit a Homerun. Trade him.

I don't think that Bruce is a mystery to any team.
A week slump or hot streak won't affect his value.
He is what he is, an inconsistent hitter who is having a better year due to better health.
We need to get a decent return for him regardless. I don't imagine any team will look at him like a stock price and try to time trading for him at the end of a slump so they can buy low on him.
Though, I do like the way the Reds sold short on Latos to the Marlins.

Walts M.O is to strike when the iron is ICE COLD....we all know that.
Hoping for another Reds October
People complaining about not trading Bruce while his numbers were at their absolute pick three weeks ago are hilarious to me. Do you think other teams don't know Bruce is a streak hitter, and just looked at his slash line and were eager to give up the farm for him? Come on.
