I'm going to try to convince my wife to go to Savannah this summer. Gotta see this.

How many of those 9 rules will Manfred bring to MLB in the next few years? You know he loves every single one of them and wants to bring them all.

Batters can steal 1st is an interesting one. Definitely makes pitchers think twice about wasting one in the dirt.

I like the stealing first idea. Pitchers should have to control their pitches.

I would also reduce the balls and strikes. 3 balls is a walk and 2 strikes is a strike out. Also when you have 2 strikes, you get one free foul. After that, it's a strike out. It would allow starting pitchers to go later into games, it would also speed things up. I realize traditionalists just fell out of their chair. If you really want to tighten things up, that's how you do it.

That post isn't interesting, unless you explain yourself.

What's to explain? All the suggested rules are great for a gimmick game like the Bannanas are playing. Nothing wrong with it. It's probably entertaining. Those would be terrible rules for real baseball.

This sounds great. I have been meaning to take the family on a Savannah/Charleston road trip.

Also worth noting that the Bananas, despite their new-age rules, play in one of the oldest stadiums still in use in the country. It’s really an unbearable pit with humidity rivaling any ring of Dante’s. It’s also one of my favorite places on earth.

I strongly disagree. Baseball has a major issue. It is too slow for most watchers. Also there is a pitching problem. My solution speeds up the game and helps get pitchers go deeper into games. You saying you don't like it doesn't explain to me why it's awful. The game needs updating, in a bad way. Even as a long time baseball, fan a 5 min AB that ends up with a pop up to the catcher is hard to watch. When you condense the AB, it forces more action. Therefor, more interesting play. Again please explain to me why more action would be awful, because I'm not sure that it would be.

I'm assuming you wouldn't like it, because it is different. When you condense the at bat, it would focus more on contact, and make hitters much more aggressive. It would remove hitters looking for the walk. It would also greatly reduce the three true outcome issue that modern baseball has become. Again please explain.

It's not baseball. It's a gimmick. It's like having three downs in Canadian football. Now, I might enjoy watching a Canadian football game here and there, but it's a different sport.
