PJ Fleck is the betting favorite to be USC's next coach.

I’m not sure that is a good fit either and I think Fleck is a really good coach.

I wouldn't like that if I was a Trojan fan.

Same. Fleck is a good coach, but I feel like he fits the Midwest better. I'd want James Franklin if I was USC

I don’t like Fleck but think y’all are severely underrating him and frankly I think some Midwest football might succeed in the Pac12

I think his "Row the Boat" theme at USC would really resonate with Lori Loughlin's daughters.

I have nothing against Fleck, I just think the SC faithful will clamor for a bigger name.

Unless they get Saban or Meyer, they will probably want a bigger name no matter who is hired. I've also heard Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy has interest in the job. He's been denied head coaching jobs in the NFL so SC may be a fit.

The question is, Who are the Trojans interested in?

If Urbs was remotely interested in the job they would have fired Helton 2 years ago.

Yeah, you have to feel like USC has put out feelers previously. Heard a talking head here in my area say almost the same exact thing you just did.

That being said...how did Saban end up at 'Bama? Perhaps the same thing happens with Urban to Troy?

or another factor may be that PJ Fleck earns $4.75M a year....more than they paid Helton. How much would you have to earn in LA to make it equal with $4.75 Million in Minnesota? I would guess when real estate and overall cost of living is taken into account, it would be at least $6+ Million?

I did not know this and I would say Fleck is overpaid.

$4.75M a year will get you by just fine anywhere you hang your hat.
