I had a friend that worked a multiple zoos. This happened at either the Cleveland zoo or Detroit zoo (I think), a long time ago.
Some teens were at one of the monkey/chimp displays, taunting and yelling at the animals.
My friend knew what was going to happen, so he just watched.
The animal pooped in his hand, the kids laughed and pointed even louder.
Then the monkey did his throw and hit with the accuracy of a MLB pitcher![]()

[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

1. If you owned a magic box that printed money, would you sell that box?
2. Would you tell people how much money the magic box prints?
3. If the magic box printed more money, the sadder it made people that look at the box, would you decide to stop printing money?
4. How has all the losing affected the Pirates Ownership's magic box?

Time to start keeping tabs on 2023 draft prospects. If we're going to tank, we need to really tank. Secure the #1 pick. Think I'll start watching college baseball on TV instead of the Reds. This Dylan Crews kid from LSU sounds pretty interesting.

The most significant takeaway from the 2023 class is its projected strength at the top. There’s currently only one 50 FV prospect in the 2022 class, but already three atop the 2023 group: Ole Miss shortstop Jacob Gonzalez, Wake Forest third baseman Brock Wilken, and LSU outfielder Dylan Crews. That’s more than has been typical for a class that’s still a year and a half away from draft day. Gonzalez has special bat-to-ball skills and can play a premium position, Wilken already has 70-grade raw power and rare athleticism for a corner defender, and Crews performed in the SEC and reinforced confidence in the huge tools that made him famous as a high schooler.
This group may eventually be joined by more prospects. Most of the college players who will be eligible in 2023 are still teenagers right now, and some of them have not even had the opportunity to play consistently as they are coming off freshman seasons at big, talent-rich programs. With a couple of obviously excellent prospects already in place at the top of the class, and so much of the rest of it still in a magmatic stage of development, the 2023 draft has a shot to be pretty special up top.

The team with the worst W-L record is No Longer awarded the first pick in the draft.
Beginning in 2023, the first six choices will be determined by lottery rather than by the reverse order of the previous year's standings.

As an exercise in self torture, I remembered in the past few seasons that the Reds had a real suck start.
May 7, 2018, they were 8-27. 19 games under .500. This years club may give that record a run. Which is tough because in the stretch 2015-2018, the Reds never exceeded 68 wins.

Somehow I am fully aligned with ya here, pal. I care too much to be ok with what they are doing and how they are doing it.
I would have respected them more to do a full rebuild, get some interesting talent to watch grow up on the field, rather than watching marginal platoon players that can achieve 1.5 WAR if everything goes right.
Its uninteresting, and I see no hook to watch.

Is this really true? I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but actually? No interest in Hunter Greene throwing meteors, or Joey Votto being one of the only single-team hall of famers of the 21st century? Its obviously bad, but the idea that there’s absolutely nothing to see here feels unearned.
