    MBA Programs

The State of West Virginia has begun offering a tuition reimbursement toward school for employees. I'm at a cross roads, I don't think I want to make this a career but this could give me an opportunity to improve myself. Anyone know a good online MBA program and cost?

If you go the online MBA route it has to be for a targeted reason. Meaning, this job requires an MBA and the only reason I don’t have it is an education requirement. The coursework stuff is honestly going to be pretty similar for almost all of them unless you get into a top 5-10 program.

If you are looking at a career change that isn’t targeted you are going to massively benefit from at least doing a part time in person program or a hybrid online program where you go in person occasionally. The educational part is similar, but the networking and event opportunities are a big difference.

I did a part time program for mine and enjoyed the experience. Happy to answer questions if I can for you.

From an educational standpoint it isn’t. And in some cases it might be cheaper. That’s why if it’s for a targeted reason, it’s absolutely worth it.

But most schools don’t allow the online students to use career services and participate in recruiting or even if they do allow, it might be impossible if you aren’t near campus. A lot of the value in an mba for a lot of people are those resources and networking events and all the other stuff besides just classes.

It really boils down to what you are looking to get out of it.
