    I have never played a fee based course, though there are a very few around. There are several dozen courses in driving distance to me.

    Its like anything other pursuit/hobby - you learn a bit about it, try it, and take it or leave it. Some of the best parts of a new hobby are digging into technique, gear, buying new gear, and improving. This gets me outside, is exercise, and scratches my competitive itch all while being relatively inexpensive.

    When I started almost 15 years ago there were many more stoner/burnout types playing in my area. It is very significantly more mainstream now.

    Picked up my 3rd career Ace this weekend at Salt Fork Lake Doe #9. 130 ft uphill, banked off a tree. :-)
