Well, that was a quick one. I watched it all off my DVR in less than two hours. The only thing to take from this game is the starting pitching, not only in this game, but overall this season has been pretty good. If this team could ever generate some consistent offense it might be a decent team. Onward to LA for the Ohtani show.

Was at the game today. Tough one again. Putting AAA players on the field is always gonna end poorly.

Seeing Abbott for the first time live makes me like him all the more. He's got a IDGAF approach that makes him seem unflappable. A little over 90 pitches in 7 innings is great and his pace on the mound is great. The other young guys all seem to have a part of the game where their face drops or they start taking longer between pitches etc. Abbott just pushes and pushes until he's got nothing left. Too bad he didn't get some support.

Benson is completely lost. I expected him to take the biggest step back from last years performance but not this big. Sitting over the Reds dugout I was able to see just how messed up his timing is. He was very late on fast balls all game and was just guessing on everything it seemed.

Good pitching but at some point you have to rest the few healthy starters we have left. Nice to see the AAA guys get a shot but I'm much rather it be in late September. Nothing there is going to help us long term.
