Only the White Sox are worse hitters in MLB. Bring up a bunch.

He's had 3 games and 10 Abs. And two of those SF pitchers (Ray, Burke) are pretty solid. I mean, C'mon!

5 SO in 10 PA after striking out 21 times in 44 PA last year. At some point a 50% SO rate is kind of a deal breaker. People who think Hinds is going to get a 100+ PA audition are in for a surprise if he doesn't start hitting pretty soon.

It'd be nice if Marte's visit to AAA we're going to be short, and given the options they have I still think he's got a comparatively high ceiling and would expect the Reds to believe the same. Except they have him in the doghouse for what appears to be a lack of professional play, so I'm not sure that's the kind of thing he turns around via a cup of coffee in Louisville.
In retrospect, maybe Marte's failures are the type that shouldn't be so surprising, a good prospect with five tools, but maybe lacking the discipline to put it all together. It's not like this pattern has been eluding us.
So if they lose patience with Hinds and Marte is still in the doghouse, who comes up next? Bleday?

I think I read that he's 0 for his last 26, going back to last year. My optimism is fading. Fast.

It went unnoticed, but he bailed Steer out on the pop-up in the 9th. Steer was lost circling under that ball. That was a big play.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

His strike outs have decreased each game too. Baby steps.

Eh, I think Steer had that ball in his sights. But, Hinds tied the game in the 8th with a sac fly which was really big.

5 Ks in 10 PAs. pretty small window to be making judgments IMO. And again, he faced so some solid pitchers from SF. He's basically replacing Marte in RF who has looked like crap overall. So we have nothing to lose. If Hinds fails, which is a possibility, they haven't got much left when it comes to options, other the Bleday.

What's the threshold for making judgements then, 20 ABs? Marte had 29 on the season
