With the CBA, I want it so if a team refuses to spend at a floor level, they loose thier #1 draft pick and it goes in a lottery for the other teams to get a chance at it. Only way to ensure teams dont play games

I actually want the Reds forced to spend on talent, if they dont want to, then I hope the lockout lasts long enough tp force this bad Reds ownership to sell

Empathy is about standing in someone else's shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes. Not only is empathy hard to outsource and automate, but it makes the world a better place.

    Have glove. Will travel.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

The floor should be enforced somehow but your post misses the main issue. The issue is lessen the discrepancy between the highest spending teams and the lowest. That means far more change for teams like the Dodgers than teams like the Reds. A cap would mean the Dodgers will need to cut about $150mill. No team will have to add that much in order to get to a floor

A verdict has been handed down in the Wander Franco case. He has been found guilty but, surprise, surprise, won't be doing any time.

Wouldn't there need to be some sort of grace period? That's a lot of money to shed all at once. The ones that would get them there fastest probably have no trade clauses.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

The Yankees yesterday sent 18 batters to the plate in the 3rd inning of their game against the Athletics, registering 11 hits, 4 walks, and scoring 13 runs.

In the other 8 innings of the game, the Yankees tallied zero hits, zero runs, and sent the minimum 24 batters to the plate.

Yes, I agree. I wasn't trying to suggest that these rules would be fully implemented in 2027. A lot of details to work out. I was just outlining the big picture

Absolutely wild to be on top of the world and throw it away over a 14 year old girl. Some things I do not care to understand.

Based on what? You think anyone in this government once it came out someone was trying to sign him would allow for him to get a Visa? I know this world is jaded but come on.

My guess is MLB will suspend him indefinitely

Re: MLB 2026 News & Discussion

Trevor Bauer has a better chance of playing MLB than Franco. Bauer gives you the icks, sure, but Franco?

    No.

Although the outlet reported that the court issued a judicial pardon to Franco, he was still convicted of a crime of moral turpitude, which would prevent Franco from obtaining a visa to work in the USA.
He's done forever. Bauer was not only not convicted, but they also declined to file charges. In the eyes of the law, he's literally not guilty of any crime. Franco won't be allowed to play in Japan or South Korea. Might not be allowed into Mexico.

    He's never playing professionally again.
    Dubito Ergo Cogito Ergo Sum.
