thanks Dusty; but I agree he might be better lower in the order. At this point maybe 6th or 7th.

Then again, there is no one else to lead off or bat 2nd.

Agreed. He's got his skills set and batting leadoff isn't part of them, and that's okay.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

True, and hitting lead off right now gets him a lot of at bats (and experience) in a shorter amount of time.

If he develops better contact skills with time, he might be a very good #2 hitter.

    yes!
there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

Personally, I really dig Balentien and would like to see him back next year with more of a chance to play.

Giving up two dingers to Jeff Keppinger in one game is pretty terrible.

The only good thing is that all these homers have been solo shots so the Reds are still in the game.

Stubbs tied the game at 5-5 with a single.

No kidding... what are the odds?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

eh, Drew Stubbs develops power at the Major League level, Francisco learns an eye.
Pretty soon we'll be discounting minor league performance altogether.
