I'm ok with it. Just like I'd be ok if it were Cueto or Bailey joining him. Let the kids dominate AAA for more than a few games.

I do hold out hope that Volquez is the #4 starter though.

I had to go off to a meeting. The Yanks only had three regulars in their lineup today. So he probably faced their AAA team.

Looks like this turned into to your typical Reds game. Lots of run sby both sides. Reds win it 12-8. Maloney and Smit gave up four runs each. Maloney will be heading to Louisville to spend the summer.

    Nice post. Made me laugh.

Surprised Smit gave up runs. On the minor league forum, he's Koufax.

I saw this on Fay's blog. Apparently they played an extra half-inning at the Yankees request.

The Reds beat the Yankees 12-8 Thursday at Ed Smith Stadium. But the Yankees wanted to play an extra half of inning to get pitcher Steven Jackson work. Chris Dickerson hit a three-run homer in the extra half. That doesn't count in the official box score.

Chris Dickerson continues to have a solid spring.

I betcha Steven Jackson is real glad he got to go out and get roughed up in the "extra" inning

Drew Anderson had an RBI single in the extra half as well.

Dickerson, Bruce, and Dorn will make for a pretty good OF in Louisville.

I'm late at this today - this is a terrific post. At first, I didn't have a CLUE as to what it meant, but I'm not always stupid! The light finally went on.
