72,548 fans at Mercedes-Benz today for LA @ ATL.

70,081 in attendance at same venue a few months ago for Super Bowl LII.

I heard the attendance was crazy today. Getting ready to watch the Crew play on the West Coast.

The Crew pick up a big road point against a hot San Jose team heading into Hell is Real Part I.

That's equivalent to about 12 Hawks games (of people who actually show up who aren't friends, family or comped).

MnUFC beat the Timbers 1-0 on a 90th minute VAR PK. It was a stupid play by Portland defender Mabiala, who basically put his arms out in front of Ike Opara’s header. This was a big win for the Loons. The teams were pretty even and I thought a tie would have been “fair”.
Portland’s attack is impressive. Their speed and movement were impressive and Fernandez is the best striker we have seen all year, even if he didn’t score (he came close, beating Mannone but hitting the post). He is the real deal, worth all the money you paid for him. Valeri didn’t show me much today. He seemed off today. tired?
Their defense is inadequate. Mabiala lost a point for Portland with his crazy handball and Cascante was beaten left and right and was lucky not to get multiple yellows. The Timbers really rely on Chara to cover their poor defenders.

Saw where City Clownsal is getting in the way of the new FC Stadium being built again. Something about a church that FC paid 3x the price for the land acquisition that council now wants to save the building.

One of the pastors was on tv last week. He said the congregation had been there since the thirties, and it would be sad to see it go. But he wasn't frowning.

Nah, it won't block the building of the stadium. It is a parcel intended for future development. All I can say without getting this kicked to the wrong forum is this is typical of the council member who is doing it.

The parish voted something like 45-2 to sell the property to FC Cincinnati.

This is just Chris Seelbach reflexively opposing literally anything FC Cincinnati tries to do. It's comical, at this point.

OK. So I saw the end of Columbus vrs FCC “hell is real”. Neither team wanted to win. It’s a derby and neither team seemed to care. So are they both going to hell? Or are they already there?

Hell wasn't built in a day. Definitely puts a sense of urgency for the Crew on the return leg in 2 weeks.

One thing the Crew can take pride in is the Groundscrew. The pitch looked amazing.
