Javy just swung at a pitch that had to be 2 feet outside.

Maybe he can go to 2nd on a double switch.

What a frustrating loss. I hope Jocketty is watching. Please bring in your own manager Walt. Please. Save us from the suffering.

David Weathers is 0-4 with a 8.75 ERA against the Brewers this year. You think we could get the Brewers to pay the rest of his contract for pushing them into the playoffs?

Tough loss today. Bronson pitched a good game.

Weathers did not pitch in the first Milwaukee game. He was a reasonable choice for the 8th inning today.

I don't blame Weathers. I blame Dusty for using him 3 days in a row. If you're a reliever, sometimes you get the bear and sometimes it gets you. Got a day off tomorrow and then down to Adam Dunn Land.

I don't know that he was the reasonable choice to face Fielder and Gwynn though.

Okay, YOU may not blame him, but I sure do. His numbers may look good this year and last year, but a lot of it is smoke & mirrors. He's extremely hittable. I've seen VERY few innings out of him the past 2 years where he didn't cause himself some trouble only to luck out of it. He didn't get his usual breaks today. He needs to be gone yesterday.

He is what he is. All he can do is go out there and give his best. It is Weathers' fault that he allowed 2 runs.

But is Dusty's fault that he overused Weathers and put him in to the game in a situation in which a allowing runs would cost us a game.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
