Edwin Encarnacion is the best defensive 3B in the NL. Top three in baseball. I'm serious.

A-Rod hasn't grown substantially. he wasn't a stickly kid like Junior was when he came up. He's always been well-built with a curiously womanly behind.
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.

Votto flew out to left to end his streak of reaching base six consecutive times.

Ah, yes. The brilliant gold glover. Someone reminded me of that recently.

    Somebody's full of crap
He's fine at first. He's good enough. They needed to find out if he could play LF, so they kept him at AAA. Plus, there was still the issue of Hatteberg.

Votto was not left in AAA too long. A September call-up was perfect.

No. Ryan Zimmerman amongst others is well ahead of EE. Still, he does seem to be making strides towards being a very fine defender.

I must admit that I somehow forgot about Ryan Zimmerman. However, from watching nearly the entire league this year, I have a hard time finding a 3B that covers as much ground or makes as many athletic plays as EdE does. Yeah he may make an errant throw here and there (very few since his recall) but he more than makes up for it with his incredible range.

Zimmerman has imploded against the Braves tonight.

    Bad bad 4th inning

Unlike some people like to lead you to believe, fielding in baseball takes time to learn and players get better over the years, not worse.

Hamilton has room for improvement, and will get better. We've all personally watched Dunn get better. We've been watching Edwin get better and we've watched Phillips get better.

Don't believe those posters who try to tell you with their mumbo-jumbo defensive stats that players peak in defense in their early 20's. Trust your own eyes. You're seeing it for yourself every day.

BTW, Wade Boggs was a horrible fielder his first few years in the Majors. During his 13th and 14th years in the Majors, he won 2 Gold Gloves.
