Tyler Mahle just delivered his best, most efficient and aggressive start of the season.

Mahle has allowed two runs in six innings on 102 pitches with eight strikeouts. After allowing the leadoff homer, Mahle completely bounced back.

Per my dad, once your team wins three in a row, it's officially a winning streak!

Yesterday, Reds starter Tyler Mahle spoke about how frustrating his season had been.

“I went into a pretty deep, dark place.”

Tonight against the Pirates, Mahle got the results he was looking for and a meaningful win.

If my calculations are correct, over the past 7 games, the Reds are batting .279.

    That's a very nice improvement.

Honestly I think The Reds and Pirates being as close as the two cities are. Should play each other 134 times a season. The Reds can then play the other 28 teams once a season. 14 of them at home and 14 away.
I am going to apply for head of the scheduling job.

Keefe, I want to be very careful about any accolades I give our team. The last time I did it they proceeded to lose 20 of the next 21. However, I would be quite surprised if the Reds finished behind the Pirates when this season comes to a close. I should have had an ass whippin' after complimenting them for their opening series in Atlanta. Hopefully, this statement won't come back to haunt the other did.

Lets hope, but based on what we’ve seen, I think that is totally dependent on the quality of our starting pitching POST trade deadline. I don’t think our offense will be as anemic or injured as the first few weeks of the season.

If Mahle and/or Castillo are gone we regress to Vlad/SanMartin level starters (or worse), I would say the difference between 3rd and last in the central will be marginal.

I'll call you Tim and I'll call you correct. TOTALLY depends on the roster of SP at the end of July.

Time for the moron manager to pull Greene so his arm is saved for when the Dodgers sign him...
