Guess the Reds final record, mid September edition

They’ve played pretty awful for the last few weeks now. Just dropped another against the Pirates. What does everyone see them finishing with at this point?

    They’re 75-70 right now.

I say they lose this series to the Pirates, and win one of these games.
    That puts them at 76-71.

I have them definitely getting swept by the Dodgers.
That would put them at 76-74

I’ll be generous and give them 2 out of 3 at home for the next Pirates series, 78-75

I think they split the 4 games in DC, 80-77

I think they’ll lose the 2 games against the White Sox in Chicago - 80-79

And then one more away series for 3 in Pittsburgh - I’ll give them 2 out of 3 again.

That would give them a final record of 82-80.

Pretty bad for a team that was on a solid low 90s win pace as of mid-late August.

And that’s being kind of generous too, they’ve played bad enough I wouldn’t be surprised if they only win one more of those Pirates series for the rest of the year and then lose every single other. They’re legit threatening to have a losing record right now.

I predict that after the last out is made on the season, Barnhardt(and others) will say, "It was a long season .We kept trying but it just didn't work out. Hopefully, we will turn it around next year. That's baseball."

81-81. I've said it for months, they are a .500 club. Easy come, easy go. Teeter, totter. Even-Steven. Win some, lose some.

Except Tucker and Nick Castellones will not be on the team next year, not sure what happens with Wade Miley; but this was the Reds chance and they didn't capitalize on the present talent.

An 82 win season from this team would be considered a success if we were talking at the beginning of the season.

Considering how horrible the pen has been, how horrible Suarez has been all season, how horrible Castillo was a the beginning of the season, how injured Gray has been most of the season, that they lost their one decent closer to TJ surgery, that both Castellanos and Winker have been injured for extended periods of time… I would easily call 82 wins a success.

Every 162 game season is a roller coaster ride, full of ups and downs. A team is never as good at they are at their peak and never as bad as their are at their lowest point. Their final record usually is a good representation of how talented they are. I think right around .500 is a proper representation of how good this team is.

86-76 they are not going to lose many to the Pirates. White Sox will be playing bench guys. Nationals are not good.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. They’ve lost plenty of games lately to the Cubs, Marlins and the Pirates themselves. They haven’t really earned the benefit of the doubt right now against those teams IMO, not until they start showing otherwise again.

    80-82.

Never thought it would be possible that they would fall below .500 especially considering their “easy” schedule but this team has nothing left in the tank.

    That's part of the problem.
