He's been all over the place for awhile now. I've just about run out of patience with AG this season. He started out great, but once he began throwing walks it's never really gotten any better.

Can't he be coached? Somebody -- ANYBODY-- should tell him to quit tossing the slider when he
has two strikes on a weak hitter.

Did the umpire realize he’s already out of the game? Pure theatrics

I like Amir but that's a bad look for him tonight.

Barking at the umpire over balls and strikes when you're pitching lousy is a Jon Lester kind of thing to do.

I mentioned this already earlier, but check out his episode of the Jim Day podcast. He doesn't seem convinced he needs to throw anything other than his slider no matter what the situation is, no matter who the batter is.

Somebody better get in his ear and fix that.

That's a good recipe for getting shelled on a regular basis.

It’s worse than that. Garrett just missed eight games in a suspension. He shouldn’t be arguing with umpires and getting tossed at this stage. Just be cool for the rest of this season.

I long for the days of the 200-220 inning starter but it seems those days are gone. If you're going to be covering a lot of innings with your pen you need more than a couple guys you can trust or you're going to wear them out by August if not sooner.

Gotta fix that and also address the offense in a meaningful way.

I'm still high on the rotation, though.
Addressing offense in a meaningful way was one reason I didn't completely get the Puig trade. I mean, I do. Puig was going to be a free agent, had value, and while a good player wasn't a face of the franchise superstar a la Trout or Votto in his prime. And I don't mind Bauer if/when he gets things straightened out. At worst he's hopefully a better version of Roark. But man, on an offense that wasn't exactly inspiring to begin with and with that former face of the franchise superstar who likely never will be again that was a pretty big bullet that went bye bye. I know Aquino was hitting, and he has thus far but it was still asking a lot of him. They definitely need to be on the hunt for a couple of bats in the offseason, if not three.

It insures that he'll be gone from any more incitement from the bench, however he could return to the field like the example set by his manager. It looked to me he got helped more by the ump than hurt -- that first batter should have been 3-0 instead of 2-1.
