    Those were both rockets lol.

Hembree's ERA just under 6. In the 60's and 70's. This type of fringe player wouldn't even get to smell the inside of a MLB park. Baseball has really regressed.

The best relievers have a short memory, forgetting their own names at times.

Freeman a victim of true strike three that the ump has been calling a ball all day.

Frreman might as well have taken an intentional K, (like an intentional walk.)

Another wasted quality start by Castillo, but we’ve now learned how to gack away games in multiple way. Yesterday our pathetic bullpen, and today by leaving about 97 men on base. (BTW, if we don’t have anyone better than Freeman at Louisville, God help us.)

Let us never speak of this trip again.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    That’s not remotely true

They said that about hitting from 1963-68 as well. Then whoops it really hadn’t except in the AL they needed the DH too.

This team just did a terrible job of relievers to go along with a pitching coach who emphasized strikeouts. Or so I’ve read.
A bullpen should not be this bad.

I’m pulling for the Padres to beat out the Dodgers but I would never want to be swept by them or be happy about it.
They will go home and recover fine. It’s not like they got swept by the DBacks.

West coast trips aren't like they used to be, with series in 2 or 3 west division parks. Now they play just one west coast team per trip and often two central teams, one on the way out, and one on the way back. They might make more trips to the west coast now than they ever did, except for when they were in the NL West themselves. I've been waiting for the schedule to have them playing consecutive July or August series in Milw and Chicago, but hasn't happened since I've been watching for it the last 3 or 4 seasons.

You are right. Go back to 1970 and you'll see that trend beginning. So many played their last season in cincinnati.

In the 70s the whole bullpen would've been dfa'd. If you had a 4+ era you were gone. He has a good point.
