The #Reds today selected the contract of RHP Tyler Thornburg and designated for assignment IF Christian Colón.
Now Thom won't be able to randomly insult Colon's size and appearance.

    Re: Reds vs Pirates 8-14-20

There are only 49 players in Major League history to have a career with 2000 or more hits + 1000 or more walks + 300 or more home runs.

Joey Votto is the closest among all active players not already on that list to join the club. He has the walks but needs 122 hits and 13HR

Of the 49, there are 31 in the Hall of Fame.

Pujols and Cabrera are the only active players who meet the criteria.

Mind you VanMeter has had all of 25 PA--and it doesn't sound as if Moustakas will be on the IL for an extended period of time--but it's hard to watch VanMeter accruing starts when he looks so danged bad. We know what Colon is, and it's nothing to get enthused over.

Ump gives Cast his strike back and he promptly swings at 2 well out of the zone to K.

The batting averages up and down this order are laughable

These days people say batting average doesn’t matter but looking at ours shows it does matter.
