Good idea Dusty. Set up the double play with 2 outs and waste the lefty-lefty matchup.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Teams are beginning to stack their lineups with righties for him AND I think he's a little tired. For pitchers this is a huge part of the learning process to becoming a real Major League pitcher. The season is loooooong, you've got to figure out a way to keep your team in the game as much as possible.

Wood was very bad today. Fell behind almost every hitter. Luck or not you can't miss your location as bad as he did today.
This is the time. The real Reds organization is back.

Lecure pitched well last time out, so Dusty was probably impressed.

Except that pitcher is up now.
And on top of that he's a lefty too.
    And yeah.

It looked like Wood left his off speed pitches at home today. That's his strength.

Not a great outing for Wood, I assume he's done. Did get behind too much, still, I marvel at how awful the babip luck was.

Even still, held it to three runs. Could have been a lot worse.

Pull him now and save some bullets for his start next weekend in StL.

whew! 93 pitches in 5 innings...with 10 hits and 3 walks I think we're doing well to be tied at 3 runs.

And he basically conceded a run in the process. And may not have had to face the pitcher at all. And yeah.

You face the good hitting righty without a force play on and with a runner on third and then walk the lefty who follows him? Sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. A strikeout or pop fly is basically the only good outcome against Soto and those aren't likely. Once you let Soto hit, I get the walk. I just don't get letting Soto hit.
