will be interesting to see how Chapman pitches tonight. He's had two days rest. Would like to see him mix in the slider and avoid walks.

Shelley Duncan flies out to left.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Yep, I'd really like to see him mix in some other pitches.

Chisenhall strikes out swinging at ball 4.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Got to stop relying on that fastball. No matter how fast, hitters at this level will start catching up to it if that's all you throw.

He used to be able to throw that slider for a solid strike. It looks like he has leaned so much on the fastball he has lost the feel for the slider.

Choo flies out to center. Reds win 5-3. We're still good!

And this one belongs to the Reds! Great games by Latos and Phillips. Somebody, however, needs to sit down with Chapman and get him to mix up his pitches some. 1 slider in a week...ain't gonna do it.

Chapman isn't calling his own pitches.

Yeah, I know. I should've phrased that differently. The point remains though.
