I could see the argument for Winker today if he were healthy.
I'm not arguing that Ervin is better. He's not. The benefit is seeing Ervin against tough competition. If Winker was healthy I'd have given him the start.

I of course expect him to go nuts in this series but:

    Eric Thames April 3 - April 26: .370/.489/.904, 11 HRs

Eric Thames ever since: .206/.316/.425, 17 HRs

Bailey gets thru another. Flair caught by Scooter on nice play, longer flair single in front of diving Schebler, and 2 routine outs.

Some more context would have been nice on the Home/Road splits graphic for Suarez. His road numbers look fine (.711 OPS) it's just that his home numbers are ridiculously good (1.046 OPS).

Bailey at his lowest ERA of the year at 7.27. Rooting for the sixes, Homer.

Man I forgot just how bad some of these outings have been. I remembered the first two being a ton of runs in just a few innings, but the Nationals (8 runs) and Cardinals starts (10 runs) blew that ERA up for good.

Bridges look good lit up in gold like that.

Nice quiet 1-2-3 for Bailey. 7.16 ERA

    Billy Havoc double play grounder.

Shortstop rushes the play, obviously aware of the speed.

    Error, two men on.
