PHO 27-5 to start the 4th and basically put MEM away.

I didn't know Doc Rivers added Dave Joerger as an Assistant. What a great addition.

Showed the league again tonight that they are going to be competing for a Top-4 seed in the West to the very end. They are, without a doubt, one of the seven best teams in the NBA right now. It also showed that the Pelicans' upside this season is a 1st Round loss, and it's more likely an exit from the play-in games.

Conley back tonight. Leonard and George both playing.

    Both teams at full strength.

    Best game of the year.

Take the NBA vote away from the players. Jaren Jackson got five votes from them. He hasn't played a game.

Chris Paul with 19 assists, which I'm told is good.

It was Paul who dictated that 27-5 run.

In their rare loss their last game, Paul was hitting daggers at the end to try to win. Paul is having his best season in a long time. He's always good, but he's at his best right now.

Great challenge for both teams tonight. LAC at full strength so they can see what that means against the best team in the league. UTA with Conley back and also at full strength trying to get the season sweep against the Clippers after having just crushed them two days ago, but without Leonard. UTA wants to make a statement that they can beat the LAC, and vice-versa. LAC jump out to a 14-pt lead causing the 2nd UTA timeout to try to slow down their momentum in this half. UTA will get the lead back, at least once. They'll start hitting some threes.

Conley not having a good game through three quarters (-10 +/- ) with all kinds of mental mistakes) his first game back. 4th Quarter is what matters. See what happens. Needs to finish at least +5 +/- for the 4th.

The ending of the Charlotte and Golden State game was, in a word, wild:

I'm not sure I've ever seen one guy obviously cost his team a game like that. 10 seconds left, up two.

Sure, it was an indefensible call. (Especially knowing how the Dubs got hosed previously for the jump ball.) But time and place is crucial. Green seemingly does this type of thing at least once per season. (Though not to this magnitude.) I'd love to see a statistic that shows how many points a player costs his team in these types of late-game unwindings. Blown assignments defensively too. Or just ridiculously bricked, bad shots. Or turnovers. Or calling time outs. (Thinking of you, JR Smith.) (The last-second brain fart by Anthony Edwards against San Antonio, video below, would be another example.)

We could call it the Anti-Dame.

I mean Draymond can’t do that....but that is some crappy officiating. A time out? Get out of here. Refs need to be called out and suspended for crap like that too.

How is this for a brain-dead play by Draymond? This happened about 2 weeks ago. LOL. Draymond from the parking lot for no good reason whatsoever. https://www.espn.com/nba/video?gameId=401267531

    Yep, that's a great example.

He does some truly bone-headed moves.

Happy for Paul but doesn't it feel like his career has gone full circle back to NOP type team.

They have been hot during FEB but not a serious playoff team surely.

Depends on what you mean by serious.

Phoenix is, IMO, a top five seed with upside-- and a chance to disappoint once the playoffs begin.

Paul and Booker are as good a backcourt as there is in the NBA. They may end up catching fire and pushing their team beyond Denver and company similar to the way Miami did last season. Ayton's solid underneath, and the duo of Johnson and Bridges offer defense and shooting. Saric is a point forward that'll help a bunch when the big bodies start flying.

But Kaminsky strikes me as a regular season guy (like Olynyck). And the bench, as good as it's been, will need to prove itself in every series.

    They're a riddle, for sure.
